Training Session for Women Officials from Xinjiang Wraps Up in CWU

A 10-day training session for female officials from northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region concluded at the China Women’s University on June 18.

At the closing ceremony, Meng Xiaosi, vice-president and member of the Secretariat of All-China Women’s Federation (ACWF), issued certificates of completion to participants.

Meng commended the comprehensive quality and competence of the female officials in the region and hoped that they could continue to foster the concept of life-long pursuit of study; work to the needs of the Party and the government; address women’s concerns; and do their due obligations. They should also seek innovative ways to do their work and play a significant role in keeping stability and promoting women’s cause in Xinjiang, she said.

Kulaixi Abudula, vice-president of the Xinjiang Women’s Federation, expressed her thanks to the ACWF for its constant support of women’s causes in the region and to officials and staff of CWU for their devotion to the latest scheme. She called on participants to take the training session as a new starting point for future work and also make contributions to women’s causes in Xinjiang themselves.

Liu Liqun, President of CWU, thanked the ACWF for its support of, and guidance over, the training. She said that CWU has given top priority to the activity and made all efforts to ensure its success despite the tight budget. She added that the university will continue to do its bit to build the capacity of women officials of Xinjiang in the future by way of doorstep training and distance learning.

Eighty women officials of five ethnic groups from 14 prefectures and cities of Xinjiang took part in the training.

Liu Meng, vice-president of CWU and director of the School of Continuous Education, hosted the closing ceremony.
